Biography
Marnie Winston-Macauley is the author of the internationally
syndicated advice column, "Ask Sadie" (Tribune
Media Services).
On radio, she hosted her own show, “Ask Sadie Live!” She
has also dispensed advice on FOX5 News this Morning in Las Vegas.
Ms. Macauley
has been a professional writer for 16 years. She has written 16
books, hundreds of newspaper and magazine features and penned two science fiction
novelets which have been translated into German and Russian, was a writer on
the daytime drama, “As the World Turns” and radio host.
A popular
media presence, in addition to hosting her own human relations show, “Ask
Sadie Live!” she was a regular advice maven on The Karen Grant Show,
in Monterey, California, and has appeared on hundreds of other radio and television
shows, including Lifetime for Women, Mike & Maty, The Mark Wahlberg Show,
The Pat Bullard Show, USA Live, Charles Perez — and Bill O'Reilly (Fox).
In
addition to "Ask Sadie," Macauley is a partner in Camp
MakeBelieve, a multi media approach to teaching children how
to master self control and self esteem. CMB is now completed a parent child
workbook, two Audio tools,
and is about to release a musical playlet.
Ms. Macauley holds an MS degree
from Columbia University in Social Work. Ms. Macauley was a senior administrator,
as well as clinician for the New
York
City Department of Correction. She was appointed Director of Pre Trial
Services in
a northern New York county.
As an administrator and clinician, Ms. Macauley
was appointed to the Curriculum committee, Columbia University;
was a graduate student clinical supervisor
for both Columbia and Adelphi School of Social Work, wrote the oral and
written exam
for the post of Probation Director for N.Y.S. Civil Service Commission,
served on the Criminal Justice Committee to the Advisory Council, N.Y.S.
Senate,
was VP of the State Association of Pre-Trial Service Agencies and on the
Board
of National Association. She also served on the Board of Headstart (Rockland
County,
New York) and served on the Rockland Psychiatric Center Advisory Committee.
Her work in criminal justice earned an Exemplary Project Award from the
Federal government.
In addition to her achievements in government, she
has garnered both Emmy and Writers Guild award nominations for her television
scripts.
SADIE” IS BORN:
“
Sadie” made her debut on ABC LOVE ONLINE
in 1995 as “Cyber-Sadie,” where,
for over two years, Macauley dispensed daily advice and wrote features
on America Online. Her wise, witty and often irreverent columns
became a staple of AOL's “Daily
Fix” Entertainment Channel. In July, 1998, she was chosen by
AOL to be the first Guest Guru on Love@AOL, the most popular online
site.
In 2001, she launched Ask Sadie Live! on KDWN720, where Macauley,
along with a panel of guest experts and celebrities, fielded questions
from
listeners. She was also a weekly regular on the Karen Grant Show,
KSRK540 AM, in Monterey,
California.
In the Fall of 2002, “Ask Sadie” was chosen
by Tribune Media Services as general advice column for national and
international syndication. In 2004, “Sadie” dispensed
advice on FOX5 News this Morning in Las Vegas.
